Themes for January science fiction films revolve around outer space adventures and inner mind control. Whether it’s the unknown elements of the vast galaxy or the unknown elements of the intricate workings of the human mind, something always seems to go wrong with the carefully planned science in these cinematic worlds. It’s also the month for one-word sci-fi titles: Moon, Pandorum, Gamer, and Surrogates are the top picks for January DVD rental or purchase.
