Set in Sweden, the best-selling novel by Stieg Larsson concerns a variety of men who hate women and the one girl who is smart enough and tough enough to fight back.
The Story of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Tattooed, pierced, and tough as nails, Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) seems to bring out the worst in men. From her father to her court-appointed guardian, to strangers on the street, something about Lisbeth has led to a life of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.
When she teams with a disgraced journalist (Michael Nyqvist) who was framed for a crime he didn’t commit, they work to solve the case of a missing girl that once again draws Lisbeth into a dangerous world of men who hate women. Darkly disturbing and ultra-violent, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo presents an intricate well-told story that leaves no grisly stone unturned.
The Stieg Larsson Trilogy
Author Stieg Larsson died suddenly in 2004, leaving behind three unpublished manuscripts now known as the Millennium Trilogy.
The original Swedish title of the novel was Man som hatar kvinnor (Men Who Hate Women). The novel, published posthumously in 2005, has sold more than eight million copies worldwide.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie will be followed by Swedish film releases of the other two novels, The Girl Who Played With Fire (Flickman Som Lekte Med Elden) and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest (Luftslottet Som Sprangdes).
